Overview

Checkride Prep ("we," "us," or "our") is an AI-powered oral exam practice tool for pilots. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. We take privacy seriously and do not sell your personal information.

Information We Collect

• Account information — your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase) when you create an account.
• Payment information — subscription billing is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.
• Exam session content — your typed and spoken responses during oral exam practice sessions are sent to Anthropic's API to generate AI examiner responses. Audio recordings are sent to OpenAI's API for transcription. Neither audio recordings nor session transcripts are stored on our servers after the session ends.
• Usage data — pages visited, session duration, and general usage patterns collected via Google Analytics. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the Checkride Prep service
• To process subscription payments and manage your account
• To generate AI examiner responses during practice sessions
• To transcribe your spoken answers via speech-to-text
• To improve the product based on aggregated usage data
• To send transactional emails (receipts, password resets)

We do not use your exam session content to train AI models. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

Third-Party Services

Checkride Prep relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Supabase — authentication and account database (supabase.com/privacy)

• OpenAI — speech transcription and text-to-speech (openai.com/privacy)

Data Retention

Account information is retained for as long as your account is active. Exam session content (responses and audio) is not stored after your session ends. If you cancel your subscription, your account data is retained for 90 days before deletion, giving you time to reactivate if needed. You may request immediate deletion at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent at any time by canceling your subscription

Children's Privacy

Checkride Prep is designed for student pilots and certificated pilots. FAA pilot certificate requirements mean our users are generally 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the site. Continued use of Checkride Prep after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
